Factors Influencing Individual Differences in Stress Reactivity among Young Adults

Depression affects the lives of a growing number of young adults. The aim of this project was to investigate gene-environment interactions related to depression, together with differences in stress reactivity as an endophenotype. Undergraduates from Bogazici University participated in the project, providing measures on psychosocial and genetic risk and protective factors. Stress reactivity was measured as Cortisol Awakening Response (CAR). The project was funded by a Career Development Grant from Scientific & Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK).
